Potato Raita

Potato Raita is a very simple accompaniment for the upwas (fasting) recipes like upwas thalipith and sago khichadi. This goes well with spiced rice recipes as well.

Potato Raita served with spiced rice (मसाले भात )

How to make Potato Raita:


Boiled Potatoes150 gms
Curd 250 gms
SaltTo Taste (~1 tsp)
Red Chilli Powdrer1/2 tsp
Salt To taste (~1 tsp)

How to make Potato Raita:

1.Wash, boil and cook the potatoes. When cooled, peel and mash them in a bowl.
2.Add curds, salt and the red chilli powder.
3.Mix well and serve.
