Shrikhanda Wadi

Shrikhanda wadi is a tangy-sweet treat that most kids love! It's made from hung curd, and tastes like Shrikhanda, hence the name.

Recipe for Shrikhanda Wadi:

Ingredients:


Hung Curd125 gms
Granulated Sugar125 gms
Powdered Sugar50 gms
SaffronA few strands
Cardamom or Nutmeg Powder1/8 tsp


How to make Shrikhanda Wadi:

1.Mix the hung curd and granulated sugar on low heat to make a homogenous mixture.Cook it untill the mixture can be formed into a firm, non-sticky ball when dropped on a cool surface.This will take about 12 to 15 minutes.
2.Now, turn off the heat and stir the mix continually until it cools down.
3.Next, add powdered sugar and saffron along with cardamom or nutmeg powder to the cooled mix.Mix it thoroughly until it forms one ball.
4.Roll the mix either onto a greased flat surface or between sheets of parchment paper. You can even top it with slivered almonds/ cashews/ pistachios.
5.Once the mixture sets, preferably overnight, cut it into bite sized pieces.

This recipe will give ~ 795 calories.
